Kitcheners' Wood

On the 15 April 1915 the 10th Battalion (Calgary) and 16th Battalion (Canadian Scottish) held off the German's during the first ever use of gas in battle. It was their first experience in battle.


The Brooding Soldier, St Julien

The Brooding Soldier Monument at  St. Julien is a 10 meter high tribute to the fallen Canadian soldiers. The soldier has his head looking down and his rifle inverted paying respect to those that had fallen.

Tyne Cot Cemetery

Tyne Cot Cemetery holds the graves of nearly 12,000 fallen soldiers - 8300 of which have not been identified. 



It also contains the names of 35,000 British and New Zealand soldiers that have no known grave, These names were the ones that could not fit on the Menin Gate.

Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) Monument, Frezenberg





Great little monument nestled in a farmer's field to commemorate the PPCLI in the battle of Frezenberg.



















Vladslo German Military Cemetery
The German Cemeteries are colourless, dark and peaceful. This cemetery contains the statues of the Grieving Parents.
